Driving is the best choice if you plan on traveling to Gatlinburg with your pet. While many airlines allow pets, can be expensive to bring your pet in this way. Some small pets traveling in the cabin, but you want to check with the airline you choose to see if it is allowed. If you have a pet bigger, you have to check. This is only possible if your pet is at least eight weeks has been weaned at least five days, and you have the box or container. There are strict rules about their care when they are delivered, then you probably have to provide documentation of the health of your pet travel needs. Unfortunately, Amtrak trains and Greyhound do not allow you to travel with your pet.

There are special harnesses that function as seat belts for dogs and a cat carrier is always a good idea if your cat travels with you. You can use the safety belt on the seat support. Remember, this is never a good idea to leave your pet in a car during the summer or in a place with a warmer climate.

Although the park does not allow dogs on most trails, they are allowed to all camps, picnic areas and roads, and on the track and Gatlinburg Oconaluftee River Trail. Keep your dog on a relatively short leash while walking all the trails, who do not hunt or harass any of the indigenous inhabitants of the park.
